Free Range Turkey

Our turkeys are farmed by our neighbour, Oli Parker, to a very high welfare standard. The birds are reared slowly (the traditional way) and are completely free range, with access to outside pasture. The birds are hand fed daily on a diet of largely home-grown cereal based diet. Their longer and less stressful life shows in their superior flavour and tenderness compared to a supermarket bird. The flavour and tenderness is enhanced by being hand plucked (dry plucked) and hung for a couple of weeks before being packed and delivered.

Bronze and the traditional white turkeys are all available at Christmas only. The Bronze turkeys are slightly smaller and slower growing than the white turkeys and, as a result, are a little more expensive. However, the later maturity of these breeds do offer a richer flavour.
