Creedy Carver’s free-range ducks enjoy a healthy, natural life on a family farm in Devon. In 1999, when James Coleman began free-range duck farming on his family’s chicken farm, he made it his mission to find a way to provide ducks with access to open water and space to roam so they could enjoy a happy, natural life. James’s commitment to his duck’s welfare, combined with the flavour of his finished birds, quickly set Creedy Carver apart. Indeed, in 2013 James was asked to showcase his ducks at the Great Britain Campaign at the Foreign Office as an example of the best products the UK has to offer.
All Creedy Carver’s free-range ducks enjoy a large grass covered range as well as water for bathing and cleaning their feathers. They are fed on a natural low-energy diet and allowed to grow slowly, producing leaner, full-flavoured meat. The birds are then traditionally dry plucked and hand finished onsite, which is why their skin crisps so beautifully in the oven.
