Gressingham Ducks® are bred, reared and slaughtered within a few miles of us in Suffolk. This duck is a unique breed that is renowned for its superior taste and higher percentage of breast meat. The breed was first developed when the small but flavourful wild Mallard was crossed with the larger Pekin duck giving a meaty, succulent duck with more breast meat, less fat and a rich gamey flavour.
You should know that Gressingham ducks are not free-range but well looked after in barns where they are free to roam about. If you are looking for free-range or outdoor living duck, we suggest you consider our wild duck, although supply can be limited. The main difference between farm reared and wild duck is that the wild bird is lean with no fat but can be tougher and may be bruised by shot. The choice is yours.
